7. Nutrients more than the N-P-K rating suggests;

Many farmers and gardeners will point to chemical fertilizers and note that they have higher N-P-K values compared to organic fertilizers like Bio-Agro Organic Fertilizer. This is indeed true but as I will explain here it is not necessarily better nor is it the whole truth about the effectiveness of the chemical fertilizer. The effectiveness of fertilizers has almost nothing to do with its N-P-K levels.

The N-P-K level of fertilizers can only be determined by its soluble parts. Chemical fertilizers are all made with salts so they can be dissolved completely. Organic fertilizers however aren’t completely soluble. The N-P-K rating that you get from organic fertilizers are only for the parts that are ground up and are soluble in water at the time of testing. Most of the time ingredients like undigested fish parts or cartilage and bone aren’t even counted in the N-P-K rating even though the nutrients are there.

Chemical fertilizers also need to have a higher N-P-K rating because of its highly soluble nature. Some of the chemical fertilizer will be washed away by water and as such will not contribute to the plant’s growth and thus yield. It is for this reason that chemical fertilizer producers have to push their N-P-K ratings higher just to offset the losses from water taking the fertilizer away.

Even with a higher N-P-K rating, most chemical fertilizers will not outperform organic fertilizers in the long run. Chemical fertilizers do not have the full spectrum of nutrients required for healthy soil and plant growth.

8. Benefits the plant’s natural immune system;

Organic fertilizers are generally known to be full spectrum fertilizers meaning that they contain all the nutrients that a plant needs to grow and flourish.
